The Need
The Arkansas Department of Health concluded that 75% of incarcerated women have a substance abuse problem, but their addiction leads to jail rather than a treatment program.
· 70% have been abused by the age of 16
· 83% have addicted parents
· 60% come from backgrounds of physical abuse
· State-funded 30-day programs are inadequate to effect lasting change
· Faith Based programs higher success rates but do not receive funding
We need the members of our community to invest in these women, who in turn invest in their family, who then invest back into our community.
